Faces of MePACS: Meet Sue from Finance

Sue is one of MePACS' Accounts Receivable Officers, known for her warmth, honesty and positive approach to everything she does. Recently recognised with a MePACS Values Award, she consistently goes above and beyond for others—always with a smile.

Her day-to-day

No two days look quite the same for Sue. Her role spans managing busy Finance inboxes, responding to enquiries, answering calls and supporting clients with their accounts.

But for Sue, it's never just about the numbers.

"Talking to the clients is what I enjoy most. It's wonderful to hear how much they love MePACS, how it's helped them and how they've recommended it to others."

These moments—when clients say thank you or ask for her by name—are what make her work so meaningful.

Sue says one client, Pamela, "calls me every month when she pays her account and says she loves my cheery voice. That always sticks with me."

A different approach

Sue has spent most of her career working in debt collection, but says her experience at MePACS has been very different.

Here, the focus is on understanding each client's situation and finding practical, compassionate ways to support them.

One of Sue's proudest achievements has been helping to reduce outstanding debts while always putting people first—something she believes is central to the way MePACS operates.

Working as one team

While Sue values the appreciation she receives from clients, she says the support of her colleagues is just as important.

For her, MePACS is about working together toward a shared purpose. "You work for the company, not just the department. When you're in Finance, you're working for everyone."

And when it comes to boosting team morale, Sue is well known for her chocolate tin, making the rounds each afternoon for anyone who needs a pick-me-up with her regular call of "chocolate at three o'clock!"

Life outside of work

Sue grew up in Greensborough and Watsonia, where she fondly remembers the leafy surrounds and the Plenty River, which provided a quiet, relaxed setting to grow up in. Later in her teenage years, she and her family made the move to Footscray, where she enjoyed its vibrant, multicultural energy and strong sense of community.

Outside of work, Sue has been collecting frog ornaments since she was eight years old, a hobby reflected in the many frog figurines that now call her desk home. She's also a proud mother of two sons and grandmother, and recently welcomed a baby granddaughter to the family.

At home, she's kept company by her canary, Tiger, who sings whenever water is running, and her rescue dog, Henry, whose energetic laps around the house keep her entertained and on her toes.

What makes the role rewarding?

For Sue, the most rewarding part of her role is the opportunity to connect with people.

Whether she's helping a client with their account, hearing how MePACS has supported someone's independence, or sharing chocolates with colleagues at three o'clock, it's the people she loves most.

And that's what continues to make every day different.
