Meet Rebecca, a dedicated Emergency Response Team Leader at MePACS. With a background in emergency assistance, Rebecca brings a wealth of knowledge to her current role and a strong passion for supporting her team.
Before joining MePACS, Rebecca worked in radiology as an Admin Assistant and her heart has always been in assisting others. She spent two years at ESTA (now Triple Zero Victoria), where she developed the skills and mindset that led her to MePACS. The familiar environment of emergency assistance made the transition a natural fit.
Rebecca is proud to support her team and is known for her team spirit, infectious laugh and decorating prowess. She understands the challenges of the role and actively works to bring an element of fun to the workplace. Whether it’s organising team theme days, celebrating events like the Grand Final and Easter, or bringing some extra energy to the workplace, Rebecca is always finding ways to boost morale.
“It can be quite a stressful role, so it's nice to try to do what I can to make things easier or make the team feel like they've been heard,” she reflects.
“Whenever we're working during a public holiday or an event, we like to theme it up and make it special for team members. We like to add some pep to the workplace.”
When it comes to leadership, Rebecca describes herself as a “cheerleader” type, leading by example and fostering a positive, realistic and encouraging work environment. She strongly believes in treating people well, knowing that kindness and respect go a long way in building strong relationships.
“There’s the saying that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, and I think that’s true. I try to lead by example and set the mood in the room.”
Outside of work, Rebecca is an animal lover and enjoys riding English-style horses, camping, hiking and loom knitting.

Some quirkier facts about Rebecca include that she finds horror movies relaxing, and she originally studied massage therapy after finishing school - a lesser-known part of her journey!
Rebecca values kindness, independent thinking and empathy in both her personal and professional life. She believes in collective spirit, recognising that no matter where we are -whether at work or home - we are all part of a larger community.
“I don’t think that there's enough kindness in the world. I think we need to bring that back. Whether you're at work or at home, we are in a community, so we should always be thinking about our place in it.”
Rebecca respects the duality of her role.
“In some ways, it can be repetitive, so you can get in a rhythm. But I also like that it's not so much the same that it gets boring. There are always new challenges,” she says.
“As a team leader, you must use your brain. You’re kept on your toes, and you problem solve and think outside the box so that you are ready for crises that you have to fix, and I do like being challenged in that way.”
Rebecca’s enthusiasm and dedication make her an invaluable part of the MePACS team. Whether she’s tackling challenges at work or exploring the great outdoors, she brings passion and energy to everything she does.
