How MePACS supports safer living in regional communities

MePACS for regional living
Living in rural Australia comes with a unique lifestyle — wide open spaces, strong community spirit and a deep connection to the land. But it can also mean facing challenges that people in metropolitan areas rarely experience, especially when it comes to accessing timely care and emergency support. Research shows that many rural and remote communities receive less healthcare funding, which can limit access to essential services and contribute to poorer health outcomes.
At MePACS, we’re committed to making sure distance never becomes a barrier to safety.
A growing need for support
Across regional Australia, people can live kilometres away from neighbours, family or essential services. They often face additional barriers to care, as there are fewer local health services and practitioners available, emergency response times can be longer, and mobile coverage can vary. For older Australians, people living alone or those managing health conditions, this can create real concerns about what might happen if they need help quickly.
That’s where MePACS steps in — providing a reliable, human‑led safety net that brings peace of mind to individuals and families, even in remote locations.
How MePACS Helps Close the Gap
24/7 Real people, real support
Every MePACS alarm connects directly to our trained response team, day or night. When someone presses their alarm, they’re not waiting for an app notification or an automated message — they’re speaking to a real person who can organise the right help straight away.
Suitable for regional areas
Our Mobile Alarm and Solo Connect watch alarm work in rural and remote areas, as long as there is good cellular reception. For homes with limited mobile coverage, we may be able to connect the home alarm through a landline, giving clients another pathway to support.
Confidence to live independently
Many regional Australians value their independence and want to stay in their own homes for as long as possible. MePACS helps make that possible by ensuring help is always available at the press of a button.
Reassurance for families
Distance can make it hard for loved ones to check in regularly. Knowing that MePACS is there 24/7 gives families peace of mind that their loved one is never alone in an emergency.
Making a difference every day
From farmers working alone on large properties to older adults living independently in small country towns, MePACS alarms are helping people feel safer and more supported. Our service bridges the care gap by ensuring that no matter where someone lives, they can always reach help when they need it most.
Supporting regional australians, wherever they call home
MePACS is proud to support rural and remote communities by providing reliable, 24/7 monitored alarms that help bridge the care gap. With MePACS, distance doesn’t have to mean isolation — just confidence, safety and peace of mind.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my MePACS alarm work if I live in a rural or remote area?
MePACS alarms rely on the cellular network and will work in rural and remote areas as long as there is good mobile reception. If you don’t have good reception but do have a landline, we may be able to connect a home alarm through the landline instead.
What if I spend a lot of time outdoors or on a large property?
Our Mobile Alarm and Solo Connect watch are ideal for people who are active or working outside. As long as there is adequate mobile coverage, the alarm can connect to our monitoring team wherever you are on your property. Both alarms have built in fall detection, GPS and 2-way communications through the alarm, so we can get help to where you are in an emergemcy.
How quickly does MePACS respond in an emergency?
Our trained team responds within 2 minutes. We quickly assess the situation and organise the appropriate help — whether it's a family member, neighbour or emergency services.
Is MePACS suitable for people living alone?
Yes. Many of our clients live independently in regional areas. The alarm provides reassurance that help is always available, even if they can’t reach a phone.
Can MePACS support people with medical conditions?
Absolutely. Our alarms are ideal for anyone who may need urgent assistance, including those with chronic health conditions or mobility concerns.
