"MePACS are there to help us and save lives." — Kathy's Story

Kathy

There’s nothing Kathy loves more than watching her grandchildren play in the afternoon sunlight at her home in Queensland. In the warm, balmy weather, she can relax knowing her MePACS personal alarm is right there—providing constant peace of mind.

“I live alone, so when my son and daughter told me about MePACS, I knew it was a good idea for my health and wellbeing,” Kathy shares.

Life-saving support 24/7

Kathy prioritises her health, particularly as she has a few medical conditions, which means she depends on MePACS to get the right help in an emergency.

“The doctor said that without my pendant and the MePACS response team being there for me all the time, I probably wouldn’t be here now—they are more important than ever.”

Kathy has experienced several serious health events, including a stroke in 2018 and multiple transient ischaemic attacks (mini-strokes). She also manages asthma, lung disease and heart conditions such as unstable angina.

“In February, I could barely breathe and then collapsed onto the floor. It was so lucky I had my pendant on me. I pressed the button and MePACS called an ambulance for me. I’ve had a few instances where I couldn’t use my phone, so my MePACS alarm actually saved my life.”

Family peace of mind

Kathy deeply appreciates the care and support she receives from MePACS. And with eight beautiful grandchildren and one on the way, her family is equally relieved she has a monitored personal alarm.

“Family is very important to me and we are all very close. They are happy that I have MePACS to look out for me. If I need their help, MePACS will call my family on my behalf and explain what’s wrong.

“MePACS has helped me so much, especially over the last six months. They are excellent, and I know help is only one press of the button away.”

A response team that cares

“MePACS do an incredibly valuable job making sure people get the help they need. The response team is wonderful—even calling back a few hours later to check I’m okay.

"MePACS is there 24/7 to help us, and they save lives.”
