"MePACS are there to help us and save lives." — Kathy's Story

Kathy's Story

There’s nothing Kathy loves more than watching her grandchildren play in the afternoon sunlight at her home in Queensland. In the warm, balmy weather, she enjoys every precious moment with her family, reassured by the knowledge that her MePACS personal alarm is always close by, providing security, confidence and peace of mind.

“I live alone, so when my son and daughter told me about MePACS, I knew it was a good idea for my health and wellbeing,” Kathy shares.

24/7 support at her fingertips

Kathy has a history of serious medical events and manages several ongoing health conditions. She experienced a stroke in 2018 and has since had multiple transient ischaemic attacks (mini‑strokes). Kathy also lives with asthma, lung disease and heart conditions, including unstable angina. While she prioritises her health, Kathy doesn’t let it stop her from living independently and doing the things she loves. To make sure she gets the right help in an emergency, she relies on MePACS to be there for her 24/7.

“The doctor said that without my pendant and the MePACS response team being there for me all the time, I probably wouldn’t be here now. They are more important than ever," she says. “In February, I could barely breathe and then collapsed onto the floor. It was so lucky I had my pendant on me. I pressed the button and MePACS called an ambulance for me."

On other occasions, Kathy has been unable to reach her phone, and she firmly believes that “my MePACS alarm actually saved my life!”

Peace of mind for the whole family

Kathy and her large, close‑knit family deeply value the care and support she receives from MePACS. With eight beautiful grandchildren and another on the way, her family feels reassured knowing she has a monitored personal alarm and is supported by a professional team who know exactly what to do in an emergency.

“Family is very important to me and we are all very close. They are happy that I have MePACS to look out for me. If I need their help, MePACS will call my family on my behalf and explain what’s wrong," explains Kathy.

For Kathy, that reassurance goes beyond emergency support. It gives her the confidence to keep living life on her own terms, surrounded by the people and moments she treasures most. “MePACS do an incredibly valuable job making sure people get the help they need. The response team is wonderful—even calling back a few hours later to check I’m okay."

Knowing support is always available allows Kathy to stay focused on what matters most: family, independence and enjoying every day with peace of mind.

“MePACS has helped me so much, especially over the last six months. They are excellent, and I know help is only one press of the button away.”
