Sue's story

A creative life shaped by care and resilience

Sue has always been someone who sees the world differently. With a background in advertising and experience as an art director, creativity runs through everything she does — from her artwork to her love of gardening and long, mindful walks. But behind that creativity is a life shaped by real challenges.

When her daughter was born with epilepsy, Sue made the decision to step away from traditional work and freelance from home so she could provide the care and attention her daughter needed. Years later, she faced another life-altering moment when a traumatic attack introduced the ongoing complexities of PTSD. Through it all, Sue continued to adapt, building a life that balanced independence, care, and creativity.

Finding support when it matters most

Like many people navigating complex life circumstances, Sue experienced moments of isolation and uncertainty. That’s when MePACS became part of her story. What started as a personal alarm quickly became something more meaningful — a dependable connection to help and reassurance whenever she needed it.

"Thanks to MePACS, I’m no longer isolated, and I don’t have to worry about becoming a burden to my neighbours or loved ones," Sue says.

For Sue, having access to immediate support has changed how she approaches daily life. Instead of feeling limited, she feels empowered to continue doing the things she loves. "It’s a reassuring presence that dispels the loneliness that can creep in when surrounded by solitude," she explains.
"It’s a lifeline I can rely on, making me feel connected and secure."

Whether she’s gardening, creating art, or heading out for a walk, Sue knows she has backup if she ever needs it.

Reassurance in moments of uncertainty

Living with PTSD means moments of fear or uncertainty can arise without warning. For Sue, knowing support is always within reach makes a tangible difference.

"When fear or uncertainty strikes, I feel reassured that MePACS is there to support me."

Sue’s experiences have shaped a perspective that many can relate to. "Reaching out for help isn’t a sign of helplessness but an act of self-compassion," she wisely observes. It’s a reminder that seeking support is a strength, not a weakness.

From darkness to light

When asked to describe the impact MePACS has had on her life, Sue paints a vivid picture: "I would start with a black background and gradually emerge into the light. For Sue, MePACS represents not only safety, but also connection, reassurance and the confidence to keep moving forward.

Sue’s story is a powerful reminder that the right support can transform how people experience independence. With MePACS, she continues to pursue her passions while feeling secure and connected, no matter what life brings.
